The Colour Mixer

Load real filaments, build both Sandwich zones, and watch the printed colour resolve. The compositing is the engine's, the dither is the engine's, and the ΔE is CIEDE2000. Park a recipe in A or B to compare two of them properly.

What the numbers mean

ReadoutWhat it is
PrintedThe composited colour, averaged across the surface the way your eye does it. This is the number the app's Result swatch shows for the same recipe (line by line since 2.4.8). With two or more striped passes the app treats their lines as crossing and this bench lines them up, so there the two can differ a little.
transmitHow much of the object's own fill still reaches your eye through the whole stack. High transmit means the Sandwich is a tint rather than a coat.
toolchangesPer layer. The engine groups a ColorStitch pass's lines by unique tool and prints one block per tool, so a dither costs one change per tool however finely it interleaves. What you are counting here is the tool sequence across the whole stack, which is what lands in the wipe tower.
ΔECIEDE2000 between A and B. Under 2, most people will not see the difference side by side. Over 5, they are two colours.
fill linesHow many the surface has at your line width. It is the resolution the dither has to work with, and the reason a small part cannot hold a fine ratio.
One honest caveat

Everything here is only as good as the TD values. They are a fitted parameter, not a measured one, and the fork has no measurement tool yet. Get them roughly right for your actual spools and this predicts the print closely; leave them at defaults on filaments that differ a lot in opacity and it will drift, confidently. More on that.
